The Games may have been pushed back a year but the spirit of them has become more important than ever.....

Have you planned for next years Olympics?

Four years ago we delivered our 'Road to Rio' Olympic Workshops to over 10,000 children across the country. We are back in 2021 bigger and better with both an Olympic and Paralympic themed day to get your children active and engaged in the spirit of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

We bring our Olympic themed equipment to your school allowing every child a chance to try:

Rowing - Wheelchair Racing - Archery - Shooting - Boxing - Hurdles

Seated Volleyball - Fencing - Goalball - Handball - Boccia - And More.....!

We have limited spots available for this one off event so do not miss out

Our DBS checked instructors will deliver your Olympic themed activities to every single child in your school. The sports are all fully inclusive for children from reception through to year 6 ensuring all your children can get into the Olympic spirit.

The nature of getting involved with sports children don't get to try every day in school will engage even the least active children.

We understand that you are busy so once you have let us know your required dates, timings and order of the classes we'll take care of the rest.

We'll arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of your school day and set up on your school field or playground. If the weather is bad then we can also carry out the sessions in your school hall.

Part of the School Sports Premium spending requirements state the funding should be used to broaden the variety of activities offered and encourage the least active children.

What better way to do this than through the Olympic Games to inspire and educate your children for under £3 per child.

What Activities are Included in Each day?

What does a 'Road to Tokyo' Day look like?

  • We'll arrive at your school around 8:30am to set up the area and equipment.

  • In poor weather we'll set up in the hall. In good weather out on the field or playground.

  • Start of School - We'll deliver an inspirational and informative assembly to the whole school about the Tokyo Olympics and the key values that olympians exude.

  • We start delivering the circuit sessions class by class with each class getting around an hour to try all 6 activities. You can choose to run sessions through lunchtime if you wish.

  • The sessions run from around 9am until 3pm (or the end of your school day).

Questions?

When are the Olympics & Paralympics?

The Tokyo Olympics are running from 24th July to 9th August & the Paralympics are from 25th August to 6th September.

What happens if we are a double or triple form entry school?

No problem - it just means that you'll need to book a day for each form if you want all children to benefit. For example to cover just the Olympic Workshop for all children a double form entry school will require two days. Thinking of doing both the Olympic & Paralympic days? That would be four days in total.

Can we run the Olympic and Paralympic days on the same day?

Yes you can! We'll just need to assess the space available and you'll require two of our instructors.

Can't we just put something like this together ourselves internally?

You could do but why spend the time planning, co-ordinating and arranging a day like this when we can do it for you? School teachers are already stretched and the summer term is full of other events to plan such as SAT's, sports days, parents evenings as well as their normal lessons!

What about the sports coaches that already come into our school? Surely they can put something like this together for half the price?

They probably can! However, the equipment and activities we are able to provide cost around £3,000. It's unlikely they'll be willing fork out this amount to to get back a couple of hundred pounds. More likely is that they'll cobble together a few Athletics events and that will be it - no different to a standard summer PE lesson.

Also, we delivered this programme four years ago and plan to deliver hundreds more this year. We have the necessary experience to ensure the day runs without a hitch.

Can I use the School Sports Premium to pay for this?

In a word - yes!

Two of the 5 indicators of the PE & School Sports Premium state that it should be used to provide activities to encourage the least active children as well as providing a broader variety of sports and activities for children.

Due to the inclusiveness of the days and ability engage all children regardless of any disability or SEN requirement Pupil Premium funding can also be used.

Interested?

The last time we ran this programme we had schools calling in the summer term to arrange a day only to realise that we were fully booked.

We don't want this to happen again.

That's why we are ensuring that everyone who is keen this time round registers their interest using the form below. Specify a date or preferred week that works for you and we'll put it on hold for you.

You'll then have until Friday 3rd April to confirm if you wish to go ahead, at which point we'll invoice the school.
